I hope you are all having a great holiday season with lots of cheer and happiness. I made it back to Lake of the Ozarks from my housesitting in Scottsbluff. It was great to be in Scottsbluff even for a short while and even though I got temporarily snowed in with the horses, dogs and cats. It was fun for the most part, but glad that I headed out of there and back to Lake of the Ozarks before more snow hit in Scottsbluff. It’s been great here and although the nighttime temps get down into the 20’s, the days have been warm and usually in the 40’s and 50’s. But, I can see the storms acoming so I’m heading South this week and hope to be in Southern Arkansas by the new year.
I plan to do some diamond mining at Crater Diamond State Park near Murfeesboro, AK. For $6.50 a day I can mine diamonds and keep all I find. Of course, I expect to find a hugemongous diamond that will allow me to retire in ease and comfort for the rest of my life. Well, why not!!! It should be fun and I think I’ll spend about a week there before heading further south into Texas and the Escapees Club headquarters and CARE center in Livingston.
I’m eager to get on the road and meet and greet new people and places. Toby’s getting eager to go too, although he’s loved the run of the hilltop here at Lisa’s. It’s time to get Monte moving!
Have a great year in 2008!

Hi Folks. Well I thought I’d be getting ready to return to Missouri, but seems the parts for my car have been delayed due to inclement weather and I’ll be here a few more days. Seems my gauges decided to do a swan dive and create all sorts of problems, so I have to have a new control panel for my dash. Fortunately I’m here where I have my longtime mechanics that I trust working on my car.
Meanwhile, the Davey’s have returned from their Carribean trip, where they encountered a tropical storm. But they had a good time despite the wet weather. There were a few things they weren’t able to do because the storm had churned up the waters too much, but all in all they had a great time.
Back here in cold country I’ve been busy feeding and caring for the horses, cats, dogs, and keeping the bird feeders full. Everyone has to be fed! I’ve had fun visiting with friends, and hanging out with Randy (formerly known as Joe. He’s now going by his first name rather than his middle name.) I have some pictures of my charges while here that I’ll try to upload, especially for those of you who have forgotten how wonderfully cold and snowy it gets here in Western Nebraska.
I’m currently hoping that I’ll be in Missouri for Christmas and then, dear folks, I’m headed for the diamond mines in Arkansas where I expect to discover some huge diamonds to pay for my travels for the next 10 years!!!
I still haven’t figured out how to move my pictures around on the blog, so guess I’ll have to work on that, meantime they’re at the beginning. The first picture is 34 year old Cody. Some of the snow has already melted by the time I got the picture, but poor old guy had an icicle hanging from his eye that stayed for several days. The other shot is of the three horses with nothing to do since the pasture is covered with snow.
If I don’t get another blog up before Christmas, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and you’ll be hearing more from me soon.

I arrived in Scottsbluff just ahead of a nasty storm, which all of you know about if you’ve been watching the weather news. I left ice in Missouri to come to snow in Scottsbluff. It’s beautiful, but, oh so cold.
The picture is of me leaving Scottsbluff back in October. But it also works for arriving in Scottsbluff in December. My friend Donna took the picture, and I just got it. Love it. I’ve been taking pics of the snow, horses, dogs, friends and relatives and I’ll post some of them. Now that I’ve kind of got this figured out I’ll try to send a bunch. Meanwhile, all is well here and I’m hoping to head back to Missouri next week sometime. I’m having a little work done on my car so my return to Missouri depends on when I get my car back. But that’s another story. For now , you all keep warm and dry.

It’s gorgeous and the temps today are in the 60’s. My kind of weather.
I’m headed for Scottsbluff tomorrow with a stop in Lincoln tomorrow night to see my friend, Linda. I’ll be house sitting for the Daveys while they all head for a pre-Christmas in the Carribean. Tough huh? I’m looking forward to spending some time in Scottsbluff to see family and friends, and of course, to see Toby’s favorite girlfriend, Brandee and the horses and cats. I’m bringing my winter boots and coats, although I’m having trouble realizing that it’s cold back there. Maybe I’ll bring some warm weather with me.
I tried to send some pictures, but ”today” keeps telling me there is a problem uploading my file. Don’t know what the problem is, but I’ll try again another day.
My next communication will be from Scottsbluff. See you there.
